The old adage "Red skies in the morning, sailors take warning; Red skies at night, sailor's delight" is not ture in this case. This was the sky behind our house in the evening before the devastating Hurricane Ike. It eventually turned purple and deep blue with the red and pink hues remaining closer to the horizon.

MSS: I'm glad Dad let you hold the camera. Those are great captures of the sky.
A hurricane must be a very scary weather event to experience. I don't live in hurricane territory, but we do get hurricane force winds during some winter storms. I would hate to have to live through the real thing. I invite you to come see my Coastal BC snow warning. -- Margy
